Installing an efficient heat pump to heat & cool your current home is a smart way to make your electric bills more affordable.  Power Moves offers incentives for efficient ground source, air source, and dual fuel heat pumps in existing homes.

To apply for this rebate you will need to upload copies of: Equipment eligibility for these rebates are limited to:

Ground Source Heat Pumps:

  • Water-to-Air closed loop ground source heat pumps must have a COP of 3.6 or greater and a EER of 17.1 or greater
  • Water-to-Air open loop ground source heat pumps must have a COP of 4.1 or greater and a EER of 21.1 or greater
  • Water-to-Water closed loop ground source heat pumps must have a COP of 3.1 or greater and a EER of 16.1 or greater
  • Water-to-Water open loop ground source heat pumps must have a COP of 3.5 or greater and a EER of 20.1 or greater
  • Replacing an existing resistance heating system (electric furnace, ceiling cable, or baseboard heat)
  • Replacing a fossil fuel (propane or fuel oil) furnace
  • Replacing an air source heat pump
  • Replacing an existing ground source heat pump
  • Limit: 2 Ground Source Heat Pumps per home

Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pumps with electric backup heat:

What is a Cold Climate Heat Pump?
  • New equipment has a HSPF2 of 8.1 or greater, a SEER2 of 15.2 or greater, and a COP of 1.75 or greater at 5 degrees F.  Please see NEEP Heat Pump List for eligible models.
  • Replacing an existing resistance heating system (electric furnace, ceiling cable, or baseboard heat)
  • Replacing an existing all-electric air source heat pump
  • Replacing a fossil fuel (propane or fuel oil) furnace
  • "Partial Home" Air source heat pump systems are limited to 2 rebates per home

Air Source Heat Pumps with electric backup heat:

  • New heat pump water heater has a UEF of 3.3 or greater
  • Replacing an electric tank resistance water heater with a heat pump water heater
  • Installing a new heat pump water heater in a new construction home
  • Replacing a propane or natural gas water heater with a heat pump water heater
